Fortune Falls
“Contemporary magic on stage” – On Stage Blog
In the town of Fortune Falls, the sweet smell of chocolate fills the hearts of all who work at the Mercey Chocolate Factory. But when the factory suddenly closes, an idealistic security guard is left to uncover its hidden secretes. A dreamlike fable through the sweetest place on Earth, Fortune Falls is a synthpop anthem for a generation trying to find their place in a broken town, and a young man’s journey to save the place he loves.
The world premiere of Fortune Falls was produced in October 2016 by Alberta Theatre Projects in Calgary as part of the Embridge New Canadian Plays Program. In January 2017, it was produced in Edmonton on the Maclab stage, in association with the Citadel Theatre.
For the Edmonton production:
-Costume Designer Megan Koshka & Performer Braydon Dowler-Coltman are sponsored by the RBC Emerging Artists Program-ASL Interpreted Performances provided with the assistance of the Stollery Foundation
-We are pleased to be partnering with Jacek Chocolate Couture as our chocolate sponsor
